研究領域
錯誤更正碼的研究方向約略分為四大部分:編碼應用(Coding Application),編碼實際(Coding Practice),編碼理論(Coding Theory),及編碼相關(Coding Connection) 。前兩項研究主題屬於實用性,後兩項研究方向是偏重理論探討。基本而言,Coding Application探討如何將編碼技術應用到數位通訊上,如早期外太空應用,中期資料儲存/資料傳輸應用到近期的無線行動通訊之媒體/檔案傳輸。Coding Practice則著重研究比較有實用的碼,如渦輪碼(Turbo Codes)低密度檢查碼(LDPC Codes)及多層碼(Multilevel Codes)。研究方向主要探討如何降低解碼器的複雜度且不致於影響整體系統的效能。至於Coding Theory則研究比較有數學結構的碼,如自對偶碼(Self-Dual Codes)代數幾何碼(Algebraic Geometry Codes)及旋轉碼(Cyclic Codes)。研究主題偏重碼的代數/組合/圖形結構分析或碼參數的上下限推導。Coding Connection則探討錯誤更正碼與其他學門的相關性,如數學上的數論(Number Theory),密碼學(Cryptography),圖形學(Graph Theory),設計學(Design Theory)及有限場(Finite Field)均與編碼學有密切關係。主要研究的方向為錯誤更正碼的理論探討。希望藉由錯誤更正碼的基礎,將此方面的知識能擴充至通信系統、訊號處理、與影像處理上的應用。實驗室研究方向為
