Curriculum


In GICE curriculum, the participating students are exposed to the related courses and training to acquire the pervasive knowledge and skills in three main research fields, communication systems, network technologies and signal processing. In addition to course taking, the participating students are required to participate in the seminar on weekly basis to learn state-of-art technologies in all fields of electrical engineering in order to expand their knowledge horizon.

Fundamental courses:

Random process, digital communication, information theory, error control coding, digital image processing, queuing theory, operating system kernel




Advance courses:

  1. Communication:
    Advance coding theory, detection and estimation, mobile communications, spread spectrum system, ultra wideband systems, CDMA systems, network coding, MIMO systems, OFDM systems, space-time coding, advanced information theory
  2. Network:
    Wireless sensor network, network security, medical image systems, pattern recognition, computer protocol engineering, multimedia computing communication, neural networks, architecture of switching networks, cross-layer design for wireless network
  3. Signal Processing:
    Digital image processing, adaptive signal processing, advanced digital signal processing, data compression, speech signal processing, data mining, bioinformatic computation and its applications
  4. Computer:
    Advance computer Architecture, integrated operation support system, fault tolerant Computing, embedded processors
  5. Communication hardware design:
    Design of advanced VLSI system, digital communication integrated circuit, embedded real-time operating system for system-on-chip, high frequency electronic circuits, microwave circuit, design of VLSI signal processing architecture, intellectual property design for video compression, network processor design
